WELCOME TO COMIC SQUARE!
COMIC SQUARE is a handmade comic book (dōjinshi) convention held in every March, once a year in Bangkok, Thailand. Inside this square of doujinshi lovers, there are artists and writers who compose, write, draw, produce and publish their own works in the form of books or various products which come in different form but same in love and determination.
Hundreds of manga artists, both original and fanmade, from all over the country gather here. Thousands of collectors are also here together on this one special day of the year.
COMIC SQUARE is organized by Anitime. Since its first time in 2017 at Suan Dusit University, Bangkok, it has been held every year and continue to grow along with the doujinshi community since then, as well as talented Thai creators that never stops improving.
This is one of greatest experiences that we want all doujinshi lovers to feel together!
MASCOTS
In the future, art has been completely vanished because the government believes that technology alone will produce the greatest productivity. The buildings are just unadorned square blocks of concrete; same to the minds of people who are harsh like those buildings. One day, C and Q accidentally found a strange-looking lump of paper in the storage room of their great-grandfather’s house. It was a comic book that survived the destruction.
As they read, both find fun and excitement that they have never experienced before. Suddenly, Tako appeared from that comic book and took them back in time to the present world where comics are flourishing. C and Q were so amazed that they wanted to write their own comic. They later exhibibited as Circle for the first time at COMIC SQUARE.
C (C13776455)
A 15-year-old girl, a close friend who grew up with Q since she was little and lives close to each other. She has a cheerful and clumsy personality, but often forces Q to do all sorts of things. She’s good at drawing CG illustrations on the computer, but if she is to draw comics, her preference is shonen-ai and funny manga.
Q (Q100511378)
A 15 year old boy, C’s best friend. Highly confident, reckless, daring to try, likes to draw manga by hand. He likes to use an conventional pen and black ink. He specializes in action Shonen manga.
TAKO
A living creature, probably a robot (?) Because he knows a lot about comics so he likes to pose as an expert over C and Q, but in reality he’s clumsy and dull. His special ability is to quickly and accurately lines with the tip of his tail.
Tako can travel through time by using comic book as a portal to connect dimensions.
